Direct Energy Business goes to Camp
Members from the Direct Energy Business (DEB) Public Relations team spent last weekend (October 10-11) at camp – albeit it wasn’t your traditional camp. They spent the weekend at PodCamp.
Held at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, the fourth annual Pittsburgh PodCamp was developed as a community symposium designed for those who are interested in all forms of social media – blogs, vlogs, audio podcasts, wikis, web video, content networks and new media monetization to name a few.
Direct Energy Business sponsored the event, ensuring it was free for all attendees. The weekend featured guest speakers from all over North America, including Direct Energy Business’ own PR Ninja, Bethany Ruhe, who spoke about "PR Feeling Down? Whip It Into Shape With Social Media." Tricia Bower, from Direct Energy’s Houston office, came all the way to Pittsburgh to present on branding. Other topics ranged from “Selling Social Media to Your Boss” to "Engaging Customers on Twitter and Beyond."
The popularity of the event continues to grow every year; over 360 people attended the event while another 2,500 streamed via the web.
